What makes the F1 Spanish Grand Prix one of the most anticipated races?
The circuit has a capacity of around 140,700 people and the authority is working on increasing the capacity further. It has 16 turns and has a length of 4.675 km (2.905 mi). The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has FIA Grade 1 license. Apart from hosting F1, the circuit hosts a lot of other motorsports, including MotoGP and the Superbike World Championship.

The Spanish Grand Prix is one of the oldest races in the world. Having celebrated its centenary in 2013, the event held its first race in 1913, even before World War I. Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton hold the record of most wins here with six victories each.
As for the track, it has been built in 1991. The circuit de Catalunya began to host races soon after. However, one shouldn’t confuse Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with that of the Montjuïc circuit. However, the Montjuic circuit has also hosted the Spanish Grand Prix a couple of times before it was removed from the calendar for good.
