The 2021 F1 season, for the second year in a row, will not kick off at Melbourne’s Albert Park Circuit. Instead, the 2021 season will flag off with the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix. The Bahrain International Circuit had also played host to the three-day pre-season testing program between March 14-16.
During the 2020 season, the Bahrain Grand Prix was held near the end of the 2020 season as the first of a double-header in Bahrain with the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix taking place the subsequent week in the Outer Circuit.
The Bahrain Grand Prix normally takes place on the Grand Prix Circuit configuration, which is 5.412 km long. The Circuit has seen Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel prevail four times each, with Hamilton gunning for his fifth win here to cement the record at this circuit.

Will Mercedes’ troubles in testing follow them into the season-opener at Bahrain? Only time will tell.
One team which needs to be watched closely is the Honda-powered AlphaTauri. The AlphaTauris showed ample pace when they were put through their paces in the test.
