Alpine has decided to split ways with Esteban Ocon. In Monaco, his aggressive driving posed a risk to the team, as Ocon made a risky maneuver trying to overtake his teammate Pierre Gasly. The cars made contact and Ocon was thrown into the air, and then off the team. Although he is driving for Alpine till the end of the season, where will he go in 2025?

Very few seats are left to be filled as more promising drivers come up from F2; Ferrari’s substitute driver, Oliver Bearman springs to mind. Without a seat for next season, many wonder if the French driver will remain on the grid after this year. There is, however, hope.  According to a recent rumor, it’s stated that after Alpine, Ocon would take his services to Haas.

While this is a 360 from being rumored to going to Mercedes, it seems like an easier deal to land. Over the years, Ocon has built a reputation for being an aggressive driver. This has been noticed a few times this season itself.

If Ocon was to go to Haas, he would have one of 3 potential drivers to drive along with. Oliver Bearman, Kevin Magnussen, and Zhou Guanyu. Although Nico Hulkenberg has a team for 2025, Magnussen is yet to find a seat. Similarly, even Sauber driver Guanyu has not fixed his seat in his team and might consider a move as it’s sure that 1 of the drivers from the team will leave to make way for Hulkenberg.

As reported by AMuS, Guanyu’s management is ready to pay between 30 to 35 million dollars if they take him as their second driver. With this, fans of the French will have something to celebrate if the rumors are true. Having a seat in his position is extremely difficult and Ocon will have to find a team fast if he wants to be on the grid in 2025.

After the Monaco GP, the media questioned Ocon about the crash with the teammate being the reason his contract was not renewed. To this, he replied, “Well, not really, you know – not at all,” before explaining, “A group like Renault doesn’t take decisions on single moments like that.” He then explained that the decision was mutual and in the works since months ago.

While leaving his former team he stated, “I’ve spent five years with this team, achieving great things, and having some more difficult moments, but I’m proud of what I’ve achieved with this team and it’s time for me to have other challenges, exciting challenges.”

Right now, there are still teams that Ocon can go to after this season and everything depends on his performance. The Frenchman has proved himself by winning a GP and it’s time he does more of that to show that he will not be complacent in a team, even if it is one of the struggling teams on the grid.
