Marc Priestley is a commentator for BBC, but before that, he was a McLaren mechanic on the grid. Being in the F1 scene, he gets to know details about transfers from his insiders. As he learned from one of his sources, he stated, “There have been many rumors that Newey has signed with Ferrari.”

While he made the big claim, he also mentioned, “There is absolutely nothing concrete or official, but more than one person told me they heard, with some authority, that the deal was potentially done.” Now that we know, this is not enough to believe that Newey will be with Ferrari soon; it’s a good milestone to consider in the updates for the mastermind engineer.

So far, Fred Vasseur is trying to build a super team with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton as drivers, and no one will complete the trio better than Adrian Newey. Having Adrian Newey on the team would be a great boost for Ferrari, who look like they are already competing for the championship this year. On the other hand, Mercedes performance director Loic Serra was also won by Ferrari. Now that Mercedes is struggling to keep its team together, it made an offer to Adrian Newey that included shares of the team and a handsome salary.
