Formula 1 is a global sport where, each year, new tracks are added to the calendar. The latest addition is the Las Vegas circuit, and F1 is always looking for more. With 24 races in the new calendar, the season has been busier than ever, and the FOM is said to be working on expanding this further. So which country do they have their eyes on?
Thailand! Why not? It’s a beautiful country, and motorsports run in their blood. Let’s take Alex Albon as an example. An amazing driver with an ever-growing passion for the sport, so it would only be fair to give him a home race. While that’s just one of the reasons Thailand is being looked at as a new circuit, the Prime Minister has plans of his own.

It was last month that Stefano Domenicali and Srettha Thavisin met in Paris to discuss having a new street race, but so far, there is no estimation as to when it will happen. Thailand is a country that is big on tourism, and the F1 Circuit brings thousands of fans who are ready to spend, Bangkok can benefit from having its own Grand Prix.
Now that the maximum number of races on the calendar has increased to 24, there is no place for a new Grand Prix until 2026. Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Mexico City, Monaco, and Imola will complete their contracts in 2025, and this may give F1 space to bring more Asian races to the calendar.

South Korea wants to bring back Formula 1
Speaking of Asian races on the calendar, South Korea has also expressed their interest in bringing the circus back to their country. Korea International Circuit hosted four Grand Prix from 2010 to 2013, and after seeing the positive outcome of the Shanghai race, they are interested in returning to the sport.
Adding the circuits to the rotation will add that “something interesting” touch to the F1 experience. Each country has passionate fans who express and enjoy the sport in their unique way. Taking Formula 1 to all corners of the world is always the goal, and by adding newer countries to the calendar, Formula 1 is spreading the love for motorsports.
