There was a group of protesters that made their way to the track. They decided to sit on the track at the Straight of the circuit where cars go over 300 k/h. The protesters were protesting the consumption of fossil fuels in the world.
But the manner in which they protested didn’t sit well with many, including the F1 Pundit. Luckily nothing happened as there was an accident in Turn 1 that brought out the Red Flag.

Lewis Hamilton comments on the protest that took place at Silverstone
The Mercedes driver mentioned he applauded the reason behind the protest but does not agree with the manner in which they decided to conduct it.
“While I’ll always support those standing up for what they believe in, it must be done safely. Please don’t jump onto our race circuits to protest. We don’t want to put you in harm’s way,” said Hamilton.

Not only him but the race winner Carlos Sainz too spoke on the issue. “People have the opportunity to speak out because it is their right, but I don’t believe jumping onto a Formula 1 track is the best way to do it and putting yourself at risk, and the other drivers.”
“You have to be more careful because you could get killed and generate an accident,” said Sainz.
