Last weekend, Lewis Hamilton won the British GP for the ninth time and took the limelight away from everything around. His poetic win drew applause from even the farthest corners, including his archrivals. However, right before his iconic victory at Silverstone, Lewis’ $300 million venture released its first teaser. And while we got drunk over the display of Formula 1 sport at its best (Lewis’ win), it is only fair to talk about the movie teaser now that we have returned to our senses. The Brad Pitt starrer, F1, is slated to release on July 25th, 2025. While that seems like a very long time to wait for the nail-biting thriller, let us take you on a journey of the details we know!

Details about the Lewis Hamilton-produced movie ‘F1’ starring Brad Pitt

Lewis Hamilton recently backed the movie title amidst backlash. Fans accused the moviemakers of a lack of creativity, but Hamilton said what else could they have called it, especially since they were bringing out the truest nature of the sport in its rawest form. Still don’t know what I am talking about? Well, last year, Brad Pitt and Damson Idris of ‘APXGP’ joined the F1 grid as the ‘eleventh team’ where they participated in the Installation lap, media interaction, national anthem ceremony, etc. They later went to Spa and Monza etc. to further film the Apple Studio-produced venture.

To make the movie realistic, Brad and Damson have been driving a Formula 2 spec alongside the real drivers to birth the most spine-chilling reality in cinema. To add to that, from nitpicking the teaser, I stumbled upon other real aspects of the movie. Max Verstappen and Guenther Steiner’s cameo took the audience by surprise. Javier Bardem’s ‘Team Principal Tension’ was also a major part of the sneak peek. There was a scene where Alex Albon was locked up, and also others where the APXGP was competing with Red Bull and Alpine. This is as real as it gets!

The Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer film has seen its share of obstacles in Hollywood actor’s strike. But the team seems to be going strong with the unconditional support of the F1 circus. This year, there seemed to be a time-sensitive scene shot in the mixed zone where TV and written media gather after qualifying and the race. Pitt and Idris (spotted moving in the background of actual interviews) each filmed scenes being ‘interviewed’ as the movie crew occupied a specific position, just like any other broadcaster. With this mammoth build-up, how can not expect the world from the movie?

This high-octane drama blending intensity and glamour has also bent our reality. The movie has gone miles ahead in convincing people that it is as real as it gets. Do you know why? It is because the creators have supposedly ‘given’ life to the characters, teams, and other fictional aspects of the Apple Studios’ produced movie. The APXGP team has an X (formerly known as Twitter)  handle and even an Instagram of its own. To add to that altered timeline experience, the fictional characters (Joshua Pearce played by Damson and Sonny Hayes played by Brad) also have their accounts where they post updates after their ‘races’ and about their team dynamics. The team account also follows suit.

Talk about dedication! We have seen multiple movies and shows being churned out of the paddock. It includes the unprecedented successful docu-series Drive to Survive. The Netflix show is credited for bringing hundreds of millions of fans to the screen. It is a brilliant attempt at catapulting the niche sport of F1 to the masses. And it is expected that this movie might just be the right icing on the cake. Despite mixed reactions over the actors’ presence in the media pen to them being on the grid before the actual race, one cannot discount that the movie’s teaser has created a stir.
