Valtteri Bottas has taken another power unit for his car at the United States GP in Austin, Texas. The Mercedes AMG team decided to change the Internal Combustion Engine of his’ car, which means that the Finnish driver will take a five-place grid penalty for the race on Sunday. This is Bottas’s sixth power unit of the season and his third in the past four races.
The F1 fans on social media were quick to take the mickey out of Bottas’ new engine, trolling the German team for using another fresh component of the engine.

Toto Wolff worries about Mercedes engine after Valtteri Bottas takes new ICE
As reported by PlanetF1, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff stated he is worried about the reliability of the Mercedes engines. He mentioned that engine problems could cost them in the championship with just six races to go.
“I think you see that we are suffering with reliability this year. We are going on to the sixth engine. I believe it is for Valtteri, and it’s not something we choose to do,” said Toto.

When asked if they are taking new engines as their current engines might not last till the end of the season, Toto replied, “On the contrary, we are trying to really get on top of the problems and we haven’t understood [them] fully. I think we are a step closer now, so it’s not always that we are literally easy with having the engines.
“We are hanging on for dear life in supplying all customers and that is not trivial.” said Wolff.
