The show captures all the behind-the-scenes moments of the 2021 season, involving the drivers and the teams. And Netflix has just released the trailer of the series. The fans will hope the show will give them an insight into the thrilling races and rivalries from last season.

Which Drivers would feature in the new season of Drive to Survive?

Earlier, Motorsport revealed an episode guide for the upcoming season. Seeing this, it is clear that the show focuses on the main rivalry of the 2021 season, the clash of Red Bull and Mercedes.

Moreover, fans will also get to witness Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s title charge that went to the last race of the season, where The Dutchman emerged victoriously.

The series also covers Daniel Ricciardo and his rollercoaster of a season with McLaren. Fans will hope the documentary shows the Australian’s inspiring victory in Monza. Yuki Tsunoda and Esteban Ocon will also feature in the series as they try to overcome their tough season. New Mercedes driver, George Russell, will appear on the show as he fights hard for a place alongside Hamilton.

F1 reporter and narrator of the Drive to Survive series, Will Buxton, was one of the very few people who got early access to the show. Subsequently, he took to Twitter to express his views.

The Englishman believes the show is ‘cracking’ and stated that Susie Wolff is the star of the series. Fans cannot wait to see view it and they too took to Twitter to express their excitement.

Toto Wolff Talks About the Show

Mercedes Team Principal – Toto Wolff also had the chance the view the show before the world. He voiced his opinion from the driver’s and teams’ perspectives.

He said, “I never wanted to have the camera in my face. We gradually grew into this. Suddenly you realise that it has become so big everywhere in the world with new audiences, younger audiences.”

He also stated that the show does not touch upon the exact happenings inside the F1 world. However, he believes the series has helped to attract audiences across the world.

He added, “You hate to see yourself in there. They create a spin to the narrative. They put scenes together that didn’t happen. I guess you’d say as an insider, well, that’s different than how it was. But we’re creating entertainment, and that is a new dimension of entertainment.”

Earlier, Max Verstappen commented on the show. He is the only driver who has opted out of participating in the series although the main plot revolves around him and Hamilton. The Dutch driver also believes, “They [Netflix] faked a few rivalries which they don’t really exist”.

Although there is some displeasure among the drivers and the teams, Netflix’s Drive to Survive has created a buzz among the viewers. The fans will hope the documentary series will capture the exhilarating moments from the 2021 F1 season.
