Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher have everyone’s hearts! After a good session for qualifying, the duo also presented a good front at the Sprint race. Today everybody was feeling nostalgic about that legendary Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel camaraderie. The two were good friends and shared a relationship beyond races.

The race started fiercely. From Pierre Gasly‘s wing coming off to Max Verstappen, losing his number one spot within seconds, we saw it all. Sprints are never easy and this track was surely not an easy one to overtake on. After a struggle with qualifying, many teams looked forward to making an impression. Haas’ Kevin Magnussen, who started P4, had to settle for P8, while Mick Schumacher sits comfortably at P10.

Schumacher made a move on his beloved mentor Sebastian Vettel, right into the chicane. The move in itself was brilliant and Vettel, on the other hand, presented close to no threat to the young German. Twitter has reacted to this move, in a mixed way.

Many are aware of the fact that Vettel feels very protective of Schumacher Jr, son of Vettel’s idol, Michael. It almost seems like Seb leaves no stone unturned to guide this youngster in the absence of his father.

Michael, in an iconic moment, had let Vettel pass during his 2012 championship charge. He presented no threat to Vettel, which awarded him the crucial points he needed to win that year. Today’s moment was very reminiscent of that for the fans. While Seb failed to make it to the top 8 or even 10, he almost gifted Mick with a place.

Verstappen runs away with the lead

All in all, the sprint was very enthralling. Title contenders Charles Leclerc and Verstappen were involved in a healthy battle in the last 3 laps, again! While Leclerc’s tires gave up, an apparent strategy applied by Red Bull facilitated Max’s win. The young Dutchman will start from pole tomorrow, while Leclerc will have the tough task of overtaking him and staying ahead.
