Being an F1 driver is one thing, and being the most popular personality in the sport is another. Well, Sir Lewis Hamilton is both. He’s not just the seven-time world champion, but also the most famous sporting icon of F1. Arguably, the Briton is even more popular than Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, or modern-day’s Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, or Daniel Ricciardo.

In Netflix’s Drive to Survive, we see an incident where Lewis seemed disturbed, due to his privacy getting hampered. In Episode 9, entitled ‘Gloves Are Off’, Lewis is seen giving an interview. At 15:46 of the episode, Lewis talks about the Brazil Grand Prix. That’s when the cameras flock in together.
Lewis in response to that, comments, “Now there’s all cameras coming.” Talking about the situation, F1 journalist Will Buxton states, “Lewis, he’s under constant scrutiny. I think a lot of people are waiting for that moment when he trips up. Can’t imagine what it’s like to constantly have a camera in your face.” Later on, Hamilton expresses “I feel like there’s a place and time for cameras.”
Fans talk on behalf of Lewis Hamilton
An F1 photographer named Jamey Price retweeted a post where he talks about Lewis’s habits towards photography. The post reads, “If he didn’t make it *impossible* to get a decent picture once per weekend, no one would have to run. This is his new thing where he blocks his face to photogs/TV.”

Didn’t know it was part of his contract to make it possible for you to take photos. He doesn’t owe you anything . You should be grateful you are in the presence of greatest instead you are whingeing

If he doesn't want to give you lot pictures, just leave him alone. There are 19 other drivers on that grid

He's not your personal property, you ever heard of the word boundaries? To complain like he owes you anything wow, pretty sure he can't be in the mode for pictures all the damn time!

He doesn't owe you the opportunity go get a decent picture

He's not stopping you from taking photos. You just don't like the one you got. And even if you were happy with a photo, I seriously doubt you would then leave him alone for the rest of the day.
