Every point matters! Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton once again showed that they are a class apart in the field in 2021. They finished 1-2 ahead of Perez with a margin of 42 seconds. But it was Max Verstappen who took the win from Lewis at the US GP in Austin, Texas.
Verstappen lost the lead to his rival at the first corner but went ahead of him by undercutting him twice in the race. He held onto his tires at the end to finish ahead of Hamilton by the tiniest of the margins.

Max Verstappen comes out on top of Lewis Hamilton in Austin
Verstappen, by winning the race, extended his championship lead to 12 points from Hamilton. This win could prove critical as the next two races are predominately Red Bull tracks.
Checo Perez finished in P3 ahead of Charles Leclerc. Daniel Ricciardo put in an amazing performance to hold on to P5 from Bottas and Sainz. Whilst Tsunoda and Vettel rounded off the Top-10.

Red Bull close in on Mercedes after the US GP
The Austrian team again ate up into Mercedes‘ lead in the constructors’ battle. With a back-to-back double podium finish, they are now 33 points behind in the championship with five races to go.

Ferrari, too, had a good race and closed up to McLaren in P3. They are now just separated by 3.5 points and have no room for mistakes from either team.
