Even before season five of Drive to Survive landed for fans to watch, Netflix received quite a bit of backlash over it. Apart from the usual over-sensationalization and dull storyline, this time DTS was subjected to a huge counterblast for Sebastian Vettel‘s conduct. Reports say that Netflix did little for the four-time world champion Vettel to give him a memorable goodbye. As the news surfaced on the internet, fans slammed the American streaming giants online.

As per Racing Lines and Racing 365, “Not all the drivers on last year’s grid feature in the new Drive to Survive season. Valtteri Bottas, Lance Stroll, and Nicholas Latifi don’t appear in the new season, with surprisingly Sebastian Vettel also barely seen in the latest series.”

This means the fifth installment of the series barely touches upon one of the greatest drivers of this generation and of all time, Vettel. The man who won not only four titles with Red Bull but also 53 race wins in his career and multiple accolades to his name. From Red Bull to Ferrari to Aston Martin, the German was one of the most prolific figure of the sport, without a doubt. Hence, the fans are visibly unhappy with the ordeal.

As soon as the news of Sebastian Vettel landed on the internet, fans were quick to share their unhappy reactions to it. It seemed that the fans were massively unsatisfied with how Netflix failed to capitalize on the retirement-bound driver.

Drive to Survive season five is all set to release on February 24 worldwide. This will be the fifth installment of the docu-series from the American streaming giants. Netflix is under contract to continue this series for multiple years.
