Even before season five of Drive to Survive landed for fans to watch, Netflix received quite a bit of backlash over it. Apart from the usual over-sensationalization and dull storyline, this time DTS was subjected to a huge counterblast for Sebastian Vettel‘s conduct. Reports say that Netflix did little for the four-time world champion Vettel to give him a memorable goodbye. As the news surfaced on the internet, fans slammed the American streaming giants online.
As per Racing Lines and Racing 365, “Not all the drivers on last year’s grid feature in the new Drive to Survive season. Valtteri Bottas, Lance Stroll, and Nicholas Latifi don’t appear in the new season, with surprisingly Sebastian Vettel also barely seen in the latest series.”

This means the fifth installment of the series barely touches upon one of the greatest drivers of this generation and of all time, Vettel. The man who won not only four titles with Red Bull but also 53 race wins in his career and multiple accolades to his name. From Red Bull to Ferrari to Aston Martin, the German was one of the most prolific figure of the sport, without a doubt. Hence, the fans are visibly unhappy with the ordeal.

The fact that a 4x World Champion isn't really featured IN HIS FINAL SEASON no less is absolutely mental.

Moreover, the fans were equally unhappy over Valtteri Bottas, Lance Stroll, and Nicholas Latifi’s roles in the Drive to Survive. The show also may have a four word sarcastic comment over Oscar Piastri’s McLaren-Alpine drama.
Wait so there's no Seb? I expected a whole damn episode on Seb. Another reason not to watch DTS this year https://t.co/W4M6CmlJuJ

No coverage of Seb’s final season. Or Bottas’s journey to his new team. What is Netflix on?
