Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes’ contract talks have been going on for a while now. With just a couple more months to go for the 2021 season, an extension is expected. However, we still do not have a confirmation on if their partnership will continue.

Several individuals from the Formula 1 community have offered their 2 cents on the outcome of these negotiations. Recently, the new F1 boss, Stefano Domenicali, also gave his opinion on the state of the negotiations and his eagerness to see Hamilton on the grid this season.

“Lewis is a protagonist. Lewis has in front of him an incredible possibility to become the best in terms of numbers. So the challenge there is incredible.

“I’m really looking forward to see him fighting on the track with the way that he’s also now behaving as a man, not only as a driver.

“I’m waiting for the news for Toto [Wolff] to release, and for Lewis to confirm. Everyone is waiting for that. That’s the same kind of attitude that I have like all the supporters of Formula 1,” he said.

Domenicali on the powerful role of Lewis Hamilton in the society

Lewis Hamilton is an ambassador for Formula 1. His Hollywood connections and social stature help bring in a lot of fans to Formula 1.

Domenicali lauded Hamilton for his efforts and explained that the drivers are now becoming the ambassadors of Formula 1. “Not only in terms of technical skills but also in terms of the way that they can put out the right message of Formula 1,” he added.

After winning his 7th world title, Hamilton had pointed out that he wants to continue driving in Formula 1. The champion recently broke his social media hiatus and hinted at the negotiations in the background.
