F1 CEO Acknowledges Multiple Requests From Teams Amidst Recent Andretti Interest

Formula 1 has seen rising heed among fans and investors alike. The FIA’s decision to revamp the regulations is also helping to bring the grid closer. And that could mean that companies are interested in investing their time and money in F1.

The Andretti family has expressed their interest several times, and now the others are joining them according to F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.

Formula One is getting back on track after the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic. Everything from revenue to profit is increasing year after year. Rumors suggest that Porsche and Audi are two of the many companies willing to enter the F1 world. Having said that, they are yet to make a decision.

Multiple Companies showing interest, according to Stefano Domenicali

The Andretti family have registered their interest in entering Formula 1 openly. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has revealed that Formula One’s prospects have attracted multiple companies. He said, “There are those who have been very explicit in airing their request, such as Andretti, and others who prefer to remain silent.”

The Italian also admitted that up to eight companies are showing proper interest, but remained tight-lipped on giving the names. He was clear that adding more teams will not improve the sport. However, offers from large companies will not go unnoticed, according to him. He added, “From our point of view, more teams does not mean more spectacle on the track, unless they are from important entities.”

Rumors suggest that Porsche and Audi are ramping up their interests and hope to be a part of F1 by 2026. Audi also plays a crucial part in developing cars for the Le Mans, but they lost to Team Jost on the track. As Williams and McLaren suffered losses, many believe that there is an opportunity for companies to enter Formula 1 as an engine supplier for these teams. Panthera has also registered interest a couple of years back. According to the rumors, they are still interested in entering F1.
