If anyone had ever fallen out of love with Formula 1, then the 2021 season would’ve surely reeled them back in. After years of Mercedes just running away with all the accolades, 2021 was the year when the giants fell. And with them, they took their star man Lewis Hamilton down, too, as evidenced by last year and this season. Be that as it may, it wouldn’t be all that fair to pin the blame on the Silver Arrows for Hamilton losing out on that eighth-world title. Due to controversial circumstances and a mega-controversial decision by then, race director, Michael Masi, Max Verstappen, romped to his maiden world title as Toto Wolff watched in disbelief.

After a late Safety Car, Hamilton, on older tires than Verstappen, was jeopardized as FIA allowed only the lapped cars between them to unlap themselves. This meant that Verstappen breezed past Hamilton, as fans raged at what they termed a robbery. It would appear that F1 themselves will not let the wounds of the past lay. In a hilarious fashion, in the famed Madrid F1 exhibition, they sneaked an item in for the fans to see that Wolff and Hamilton won’t be too fond of.

Masi’s decision led to this famous one-liner being immortalized. However, Wolff will be cursing his stars for uttering these words as he sees this piece exhibited which fans can see for a mere 19.9 euros ($22 approx).

While some called out the controversy.

Others were just having some benign fun at the expense of Wolff and Hamilton.
