“There is no magic bullet” Does these words ring a bell? These were Toto Wolff’s comments about the new Mercedes upgrades prior to the race in Baku. The Mercedes CEO is now back again with new comments on the expectations from the major changes at the team as he crushes Lewis Hamilton’s ultimate dream for the time being and keeps the 7X champion in check. But what are these new comments?

Mercedes has been working on a new concept and has scrapped the ZeroPod concept after Lewis Hamilton’s criticism of the W14. Hamilton explained how he felt disconnected from the car because of the seating position. However, Toto Wolff previously made claims that the new upgrades are showing good numbers in simulation with a positive trajectory but it won’t be a jump like Aston Martin made this year.

According to Express.co.uk, Toto Wolff said, “We have to be careful that we have our expectations under control. I don’t think we’ll get there and suddenly we’re half a second faster and in the middle of a fight. We won’t, but we are now laying a new foundation and at least taking some issues off the table that we believe are contributing to us being too slow. Let’s see what that brings.”
