Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel’s rivalry is probably the classiest and most respectful one of the last decade. However, it looks like as the cars are getting faster; the drivers are getting fiercer. Max Verstappen went all guns blazing after George Russell after the Briton compromised his race. But this is Formula 1 and things happen in F1. Nevertheless, The Dutchman is back at it again, forcing another warning down Rusell’s throat as the rivalry picks up traction.
Mercedes and Red Bull have been rivals competing with each other for over a decade now. It might be so that their drivers are also extraordinarily critical of the other. Max Verstappen quickly turned what looked like a racing incident into George Russell‘s mistake. Russell, in an attempt to get past the Dutchman after getting a better start, went up on his inside. Verstappen, knowing the risks, stayed on the outside, resulting in Russell hitting his sidepod.

Max Verstappen complaining about someone getting their elbows out sounds very ironic after his shenanigans of 2021 with Lewis Hamilton. George Russell suggested the corner was his and talked about how Verstappen could’ve waited and gone for a move on the next lap. The Briton explained his frustration and surprise at Max’s anger, pointing towards how Verstappen would lunge up on the inside if the roles were reversed.
According to Express.co.uk, George Russell said “I was surprised as to why he was so angry, to be honest. He still finished the race in P3, you know it’s a difficult situation, he’s got enough experience to know if he’s trying to overtake a guy on the outside, there’s a risk that the guy on the inside is going to run wide and into you, and I don’t think anything would have been any different had positions have been reversed.”
