In this cut-throat business of Formula 1 racing, there is hardly ever a driver who is adored by all. However, there is always an exception. Moreover, the majority of the grid would agree, that exception is Sebastian Vettel. Don’t take our word for it, take the word of Daniel Ricciardo.
The outgoing McLaren man revealed his thoughts about the former teammate during his Renault days. Ricciardo was at Renault and Vettel was at Ferrari. Ricciardo started, “Seb (Vettel) is one of these guys.. I think he’s probably the only driver on the grid who doesn’t have social media.” Okay, maybe not everything stood the test of time, but what Ricciardo had to say next did.
He continued, “He’s one of the most successful and wealthy Formula 1 drivers of our generation, yet you probably see him walking on the street and you wouldn’t know that. He’s unique. I think he lives and breathes the sport. He loves it; probably more than anyone, actually.”
“I’m happy that he stays on. I think it’s time for a change for him and I think this will be really good for his career, maybe the last phase of his career,” he concluded.
