Lewis Hamilton won the Brazilian Grand Prix in style, as he started the race in tenth place, and went on to take the chequered flag. The F1 community was in awe after seeing Hamilton’s brilliant drive. One such personality was ex-Red Bull driver, Jean-Eric Vergne.

Vergne took to Twitter to praise Lewis, but it was met with backlash, as he was praising a driver who defeated Red Bull. However, Vergne didn’t hesitate to give a response on why he thinks the British driver is one of the best in the sport.

Former Red Bull driver praises Lewis Hamilton after a brilliant performance in Brazil

The Mercedes driver was starting the race in tenth place, which was a major obstacle that he had to overcome. However, the Knight brought his A-game to Interlagos, which saw him take the win. His drive was absolutely brilliant and was even appreciated by a former Red Bull driver.

Vergne wrote on Twitter,Hamilton, what a legend! Disqualified, gained 15 places in yesterday sprint race, 5 places grid penalty and a master driver today …! GOAT “(Greatest of All-Time).

However, F1 Twitter exploded, as they were shocked to see a Red Bull driver praise their rivals. He took to Twitter once again to state his reasons, and wrote, “I’m surprised to get bad message about my last tweet, best car or not, you don’t become 7 times world champion out of luck, and you certainly don’t win a race like he did starting 10th and beating an excellent Max Verstappen. This was a master class drive, end.”

Vergne was critical about Helmut Marko

Dr. Helmut Marko has a daunting personality in the Milton-Keynes-based outfit’s garage. Vergne spoke about him Marko on an episode of the podcast, Beyond the Grid to talk about the relationship he had with Marko.

He said, “You like Helmut, you don’t like Helmut; I’m not here to be friends with him. It’s not like I’m going to go on a holiday with him. I like him as a boss because he always gave the driver a fair chance to succeed.”

Yeah, he is tough. But that’s fine; because the world we live in, the world Formula 1 drivers are in, is a tough world. You’re only as good as your last race, and this, everybody knows.”

With Vergne showing support to Hamilton after the Brazilian GP, it might not suit Marko & Co. What do you think of this? Let us know in the comments below.
