Adrian Newey’s demand is rising by the minute! The 65-year-old has announced departure from Red Bull at the end of 2024. Naturally, this news has opened doors for all the rival teams. Now, they are bidding against each other to bring the talent behind Red Bull’s brilliant cars to their homes. However, former Ferrari manager Peter Windsor has revealed Newey will shift to Maranello next season.

Newey entered RBR in 2006 after several successful stints at Williams and McLaren. The aerodynamics wizard soon rose to prominence as he was instrumental behind Sebastian Vettel securing back-to-back Championships between 2010 and 2014. Adrian Newey has also designed all the cars that have brought Max Verstappen his three Championships till now. Considered one of the greatest F1 engineers, the Briton has decided to leave Red Bull in pursuit of other challenges. To grab the opportunity of hiring him, Ferrari and Aston Martin had gone all out to lure the racecar maestro.

Only sometime earlier, news broke regarding AMR Boss Lawrence Stroll giving Newey a private tour of his team’s factory. This sparked rumors that the Silverstone outfit has all but signed a deal with him already. However, Scuderia Ferrari did not back down from their fight for Newey. Having already acquired Lewis Hamilton for $100 million a year, it is no surprise the Scuderia want Adrian Newey to complete their dream team.

Ex-Ferrari chief-turned-journalist Peter Windsor recently faced the question of where Newey will go on his YouTube live interaction with the fans. He said, “Everybody to whom I’ve spoken, and was chatting with in the pitlane in Barcelona and stuff, everybody seems to think it’s a done deal that Adrien is going to Ferrari.” Thus, the F1 veteran has verified Newey’s Maranello plans by gathering news from the discussions he had at the Spanish GP paddock. Despite his historic status in F1, he wants to give more to this sport but this time, he will work for a new team. While every squad is now clamoring to hire Newey, the Briton admitted to feeling exhausted. He has thus packed his bags and jetted off to go on a vacation with his wife. This is why no one has heard from the car-designing pro in recent times.

Taking to her X handle, Newey’s wife, Amanda, has shared a picture of him enjoying a beer on his holiday. The caption read, “Adrian told you that he was tired and needed a holiday.” Moreover, she also thanked Chewton Glen, a 130-acre spa resort in Hampshire that has evidently sponsored the couple’s visit. Amanda Newey even emphasized that the beer in her husband’s hands was a gift from the sponsors.

While Adrian Newey enjoys time away from the din and bustle of Formula 1, the news about his appointment at Ferrari remains to be released. If Windsor’s words are anything to go by, the RBR Chief Technical Officer will need to prepare for a trip to Italy soon.
