Rumors of Sergio Perez’s being replaced at the end of this year have been growing stronger over the last month. Ever since Daniel Ricciardo joined AlphaTauri, many speculations of the HoneyBadger replacing Perez have been going on. While the Red Bull Bosses have denied such a possibility, you never know what’s going to happen at Red Bull. Amid this threat of replacement, Ex Ferrari’s Boss has issued an ultimatum for Checo. What is this ultimatum?

The podium in Hungary was a relief for Checo. However, the Mexican driver started P9, not where a Red Bull should be starting. Nonetheless, after a great job at the Belgium GP qualifying, Sergio Perez will be starting P2 as Max Verstappen takes a 5-place grid penalty for a gearbox change. Former Ferrari Boss, Peter Windsor issues an ultimatum for Perez. He suggested that Perez should possibly win the race from this spot as he’s in a Red Bull and if he does not, then there’s a problem with him.

According to Peter Windsor’s YouTube video, Peter Windsor said “A big opportunity for Sergio Perez, finally, after all this time, to get back to possibly win a Grand Prix again. He’s in a Red Bull RB19. He’s around Spa, on the front row. If Sergio doesn’t win this one then he has a problem because it shouldn’t be that difficult for him around Spa in a car that good. And the forecast is to be dry-ish on Sunday. Overcast but dry.”

Sergio Perez didn’t get into Q3 for 5 races in a row prior to the Hungary GP. Even the Hungary GP qualifying wasn’t that great. This is a great chance for Checo to solidify his seat and show that he’s still got it. Let’s see what Checo thinks about the Main Race.

Sergio Perez uncertain about the Race Pace at Spa Francorchamps

The only Practice session at the Belgium GP was affected by rain. Given that it’s a sprint weekend, drivers won’t have much knowledge of how the car will perform during the race with heavy fuel loads. We saw the Mercedes struggle in Hungary with high fuel loads and then come alive in the latter part of the race. Checo remained concerned about the race pace with higher fuel loads.

According to @RedBulletin’s Tweet, Sergio Perez said “The biggest concern is come Sunday, because we haven’t done any high fuel, we don’t know how the car is gonna behave with heavy tanks. It’s always a massive concern going into the weekend basically blind and you can get it wrong very easily.”
