After years of being the third-best team on the Formula 1 grid, Red Bull broke out of Mercedes’ shadow in 2021. Since then, the Milton-Keynes-based outfit has gone from strength to strength, as they have achieved dominant success over the past two years. 2023 has started off in a similar fashion, too. Max Verstappen led from the very beginning as the Bulls secured a favored 1-2 finish at last week’s season opener in Bahrain.
You’d expect the Bulls to revel in their success, wouldn’t you? But that sort of attitude hasn’t gotten them this far. The cutthroat mindset that won’t allow anyone to come even close to challenging them has got them at this level. This is exactly why, as their two closest rivals, Mercedes and Ferrari, falter, they were quick to stick a pin in the newly successful Aston Martin’s hopes and dreams as well. After a sensational off-season, the Silverstone-based team turned up in Bahrain with a bona fide podium contender which Fernando Alonso drove to fruition. But Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko was quick to rain on Aston Martin’s parade.
Like clockwork 😂

Marko, the Austrian spearhead of the Milton-Keynes-based team, was of the opinion that the Aston Martin AMR23 was in fact not in accordance with the rules and regulations of F1 and the FIA. But his tactic to undermine Alonso’s success may have just backfired.
Fans react to Red Bull playing dirty games with Fernando Alonso and Aston Martin
As soon as this piece of news went viral on social media, fans rushed to Twitter to share their reactions. Safe to say, looking at the overwhelming negativity towards Marko and his comments, this move didn’t really go down well with the fans. One fan even commented, “Evil expects evil from others,” obviously referring to their own cost cap breach from last year.
Let’s take a look at just a few of the fan reactions from Helmut Marko’s Aston Martin comments.

Are Marko’s comments justified? Or is the Red Bull boss being unnecessarily critical of the Silverstone-based team?
