Once again, the Formula 1 circus is heading on down to Monaco, which is the namesake of one of their most famous race tracks. While the teams prepared for a dry and sunny afternoon, rain surprised them before the start of the race. As a result, it was chaos on the track and pit lane as teams were unsure of the tires to use.

The start was delayed by 15 minutes because of the heavy rain and the safety car led the way during the formation lap. All the team staff had a horrendous time dealing with the changes in weather. They were panicking as they rolled out different tires on the track.
While all the pandemonium unfolded, one man on the track wanted his team to calm down. Lewis Hamilton was in Zen mode and asked his team to concentrate on the race.
Speaking on the radio, he said, “Everyone just take a deep breath and cool down. I don’t want anyone panicky for this race.”

It is a crucial race for Mercedes and rain offers a great opportunity for the team to capitalize on any errors. The W-13 is once again going through porpoising issues, so Hamilton and co will look to take advantage of the wet weather race.
Lewis Hamilton is an expert driver in these conditions and has shown his ability time and again. Can Hamilton, from 8th, bounce back and win an unlikely race? We will have to wait and watch.
Twitter reacts to the delayed start
Many believe that the race director made the wrong decision to delay the race. According to the fans, if the race started on time, the rain would have made the strategies and the race even more interesting.
Very odd that we have a delay because of some rain. Let’s get going!
The formation lap will begin at 9 minutes past the hour. It will also start behind the safety car. This is ludicrous. Feels so fake.#MonacoGP 🇮🇩 pic.twitter.com/a3E6xBN5P3

So everyone hopes for a wet Monaco Grand Prix, we get a damp start and the hope of an actual entertaining race and for reasons no one understands they delay the start.
I cannot fathom why? Just crack on. #MonacoGP #F1

Martin Brundle certainly had his fun while commentating. “Let’s wait until tomorrow then until it’s dry,” he joked.
