Lando Norris is one of the best talents in Formula 1, undoubtedly. The Briton is a highly regarded individual in the sport and has the right instincts to be a world champion in the right situations. Norris is a driver any team principal would like to have in their team. Christian Horner doesn’t think differently in this case as he shares the sad Red Bull story.

Red Bull Racing and Lando Norris didn’t click, revealed Christian Horner in a recently published report. Since Norris is a talent any team and their bosses would like to have, Red Bull boss Christian Horner is one of them. However, Horner stated that things went south as soon as they were done talking to the young Briton.

The Red Bull Supremo further asserted, “He’s on a long-term contract with McLaren, and it looks like he’s going to be there for a few more years.” Norris signed a four-year contract with the Papaya team in May this year that will see him stay at the team for 2025 and beyond.

Lando Norris reveals that he talked with Red Bull

The McLaren star driver revealed that he talked with the current F1 Constructors’ champions earlier this season. While talking to Auto Motor Und Sport, Germany, the McLaren star conveyed in a report published by Planet F1 that it was more like a “chat” rather than some serious discussions.

The 22-year-old driver further stated, “It wasn’t just Red Bull. Every driver has chats with a lot of the different teams on what could happen, and it’s as simple as that, basically. I literally said, it was just, everyone always tries to speak to all teams at some point, so I spoke to them.”

Even though the 2022 F1 season hasn’t been great for Lando Norris, that doesn’t rule away the fact he has been phenomenal for the Woking-based team. Raking up six podiums in a mid-level car while Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull running riots is no easy feat.
