While the Coronavirus pandemic-induced lockdowns made life boring for most of us, the ‘Twitch Quartet’ brought smiles to F1 fans’ faces. Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, and Lando Norris took the responsibility of entertaining the petrolhead while F1 took a hiatus. Norris and Verstappen often streamed their sim racing duels together and gave us some hilarious moments. On one such occasion, the Briton made a shocking confession on his Dutch grid mate. One that could even make Super Max’s girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, jealous.

Apart from sim racing, Max and Lando streamed their Call of Duty gameplay as well. Once, the Dutchman was given the duty of taking care of babysitting Kelly’s daughter Penelope. The whole thing turned out to be a disaster, as Max could manage either. While he tried to play the game with his friends, Penelope attacked his cats. The adorable conversation between them turned into a hilarious back-and-forth that left his clan mates in splits.

In another stream where Max and Lando raced on the sim against each other, a viewer asked Lando to sing a Verstappen fan-made song called ‘Super Max’. Norris, instead of singing himself, put the song on the stream and confessed how much he loved it. “It’s frickin awesome. I think it’s awesome! I listen to that every night, mate before I go to bed. Frickin should be Dutch number one song that is,” he told.

Later, he crashed into the barriers and Max asked him what was going on. Lando replied, “I’m just not focused.” To this Max responded, “Yeah, I tell you it’s because of that song.”

The song left Norris in splits when he saw that one of the fans lip-syncing in the video had no idea what the lyrics were.

Max Verstappen considers Lando Norris as his best friend on the F1 grid

Verstappen continued his dominant run from last year in the 2023 season opener in Bahrain. The Flying Dutch led from the front and never gave a chance for the rivals to come into the game. Norris, on the other hand, saw his team slip down further where new teammate Oscar Piastri DNF’d and he himself finished P17. Before that, on the eve of the race, Max gave an interview where he admitted how much he adored Lando.

Speaking with Daily Mail, Verstappen said, “I get on really well with Lando because he is just himself and normal. He is my best friend on the grid.”

“He loves what he is doing. I could see clearly from years ago in go-karting that he was very quick — though we never raced against each other. Everything just came to him really naturally as a driver.”

Max also lauded Lando’s on-track abilities. Sadly, the first race indicates his dwindling fate at McLaren could dive a bit further.
