With speculations around Hamilton’s future, including a move to Ferrari, a 10-year deal with Mercedes and even a possible retirement, the saga around the 7x champion continues. However, an F1 journalist has now tipped Lewis Hamilton to turn down the speculated Ferrari deal even if it was worth $70,000,000, as a humiliating reason for the same is brought up. What is the reason behind Hamilton refusing a move to Ferrari?

Lewis Hamilton‘s F1 future hasn’t been decided yet. While Toto Wolff earlier suggested that only the finer details of the Hamilton contract are left, his recent statement of trying everything to keep the Briton at the Brackley stable doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence. Amidst all this, Ferrari has reignited their interest in signing Hamilton. However, it is believed that the 7x champion has turned down Scuderia’s offer.

Reports of John Elkann contacting Lewis Hamilton for a Ferrari deal came out recently. To top it off, Frederic Vasseur is also believed to have approached the Briton regarding a future with Ferrari. However, Michael Schmidt suggests that Vasseur knows that Hamilton wouldn’t move teams. He advised that the 7x champion knows that the problems would only multiply if he moves to Ferrari and hence, even if Ferrari offers double his current contract of $35 million, Hamilton wouldn’t move to Maranello.

According to motorsport.nextgen-auto.com, Michael Schmidt said, “I also think Hamilton is quite intelligent. He knows very well that even if they pay double in Maranello, things will not get better there: Ferrari is not ahead of Mercedes. And every problem at Mercedes would multiply at Ferrari because it is even more in the spotlight.”
