Every team in F1 has struggled to minimize the impact of porpoising in the 2022 cars. Leaving a handful of teams aside, the porpoising has affected every driver in the paddock. Many drivers had mentioned that after they had gotten out of the car, they had to take medicine to release the pain. But Alpine driver, Esteban Ocon, mentioned that he is not one driver who did not take paracetamol after getting out of the car.

The French driver mentioned that everyone was trying to get on top of the issue. But According to him, Alpine have made some strides to get on top of the porpoising.

Esteban Ocon denies taking medicine because of porpoising

As reported by Soy Motor, the issue of porpoising has meant that some of the drivers had to take medicine to get rid of the dizziness. But the Frenchman mentioned that the team knows how to fix the issue and they are on it.

“Everyone is suffering at the end because they are new cars and there is a lot to understand. We have seen some reliability issues here and there from our side in Barcelona, but the rest went smoothly. Everything is going well right now. We have seen some rocking by Fernando, but we know how to fix it,” said Ocon.

“On the days when I got into the car, we didn’t have any rocking, which is a positive thing because I didn’t have to take a paracetamol. It can be resolved. When the car goes downhill, it’s worse and I think the headwind in the first corner didn’t help,” said Ocon.

It would be interesting to know as it what are the changes that the French team has made to counter the issue. Alpine was struggling in the first couple of days of the testing because of the reliability of the 2022 car.

It is unclear whether they are at the top of the midfield or at the bottom after testing. We will get a clear idea of their performance and the changes they made to counter porpoising at the first race of the season next week.
