Red Bull and its fans have had a lot of excitement in the last few days. The team revealed the RB19 and announced a strategic partnership with Ford Motor from the 2026 season onwards. The entire team, including the drivers, was present for the ceremony. Around the same time, the Red Bull world champion, Max Verstappen, also made a massive announcement on his social media handles. A sponsorship announcement that caught the eyes of fans around the globe.

We are all aware Verstappen is an avid and passionate gamer. The Dutchman showcased as much with his rant at the organizers of the virtual Le Mans championship. In fact, the Dutchman has showcased his passion for sim racing and overall gaming on multiple occasions with expensive gaming setups and dedication toward the game. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise when Verstappen announced his partnership with EA Sports via Twitter.

Verstappen, the man already worth $48 million according to Forbes, has added another lucrative deal to his portfolio. However, the fans are assuming this deal with EA Sports is for the F1 2023 game. After Verstappen’s recent outburst about racing games, some fans are left confused about his decision.

The confusion has also turned into speculation. The fans on Twitter and Reddit are unanimously making assumptions about the mode of payment from the EA sponsorship for the Dutchman.

The Dutchman posted a video of himself on his Twitter handle, playing with a helmet. In the video, Verstappen showcases the helmet, which has a big “EA” logo right on the chip and the clip ends with a sign of EA Sports, clearly indicating the new partnership.

However, the fans are confused.

The fans are questioning Verstappen’s decision to join hands with a game most fans don’t rate too highly. The rest of the fans are hilariously speculating what Verstappen did for the FIFA coins, a game he plays regularly.

The response on Reddit was similar as fans all speculated the mode of payment would be FIFA points.

We are not sure about the details of the EA partnership but the fans have made up their mind. If Verstappen did join EA Sports as the face of F1 2023, the fans want him to make the developers “fix their game”.
