In the history of Formula 1, Mercedes is undoubtedly among the most successful teams. The squad was just getting through one of its worst seasons when one of its members announced his decision to move on. And Lewis Hamilton, who has always been a prominent voice for the squad, chose to congratulate the Silver Arrow team member on their next endeavors.

The team’s principal’s merry-go-round finally smacked the Mercedes after it initially escaped it. James Vowles, Mercedes’ chief strategist, was yesterday named as Williams’ team president. Twenty years of service with the Silver Arrows team showed that Vowles was well-liked by his coworkers. That being said, both Lewis Hamilton and James Vowel were seen rejoicing on the podium in a picture that Hamilton posted on his Instagram stories before posting his farewell message.

The Britain driver wrote on Instagram, “I am so proud and grateful to have worked with James for the past 10 years. Together we have won over 80 races and 15 titles. This is such a great move and I couldn’t be happier for him. We all need change in order to progress and I’m confident that he’ll push Williams forward to being more competitive. There is nobody more deserving of this role. Wishing you the best brother.”
