Alpine has had a successful season this year. Despite the reliability issues of their A522 car, they are currently P4 in the constructor’s title. However, Fernando Alonso has suffered more reliability issues than Esteban Ocon this year. As a result, he finds himself behind his teammate in the driver’s championship. But the Spaniard seems to have moved on after his recent Instagram post.

It was another DNF for Alonso in the Mexican Grand Prix, his 5th of the season. Alonso previously claimed he was “minus 60” points in the championships when he was forced with another DNF in the Singapore GP. The double-world champion is currently 11 points behind Esteban Ocon in the 9th position.

However, Alonso seems to have moved on with his struggles this season. It was a brilliant gesture by the Spanish driver as he took to Instagram to share a snap of having dinner with the Alpine mechanics.

He captioned the post stating, “Enjoyed a relaxed and fun evening with my people on the race team. Thank you for the last two years, you have helped me get back to the highest level, working tirelessly together here at the track, away from our families throughout long seasons, but enjoying our passion for racing. Let’s go.”

Ocon said, “He’s not an unusual driver, but he is always pushing things to the extreme,” said Ocon. “So if one thing works, he is going to go completely in that direction, but to the extent that it can be negative, so I don’t copy/paste everything that he does, nowhere near that.”

He further mentioned, “Calling him an animal in races is the right description because he’s going 300% to the extreme most of the time.”
