Sebastian Vettel showed a huge level of maturity and sportsmanship through his team radio, following yet another disappointing race in Imola.
Despite Ferrari messing up his pit stop during the race, Vettel later told his race engineer, Riccardo Adami, not to worry about it. He also went on to thank his mechanics for their contribution over the weekend.

As the German crossed the line in P13, Vettel had a heartening exchange of words between himself and his race engineer. “Ok. Not much I could do there in the end. I was pretty stuck, to be honest,” Vettel said.
“Anyway, I tried. A decent race up to the pits. But don’t worry about it.” Through his message, he took the pressure off of his mechanics, who looked distraught for spoiling Vettel’s race.
Sebastian Vettel gives a heartwarming message to his mechanics
Although the Ferrari’s mechanics denied Vettel points finish in the race, the German still gave a morale-boosting message to his side of the garage.
“Thanks to the Mechanics. Thanks for all these years. You [Adami] are a gentleman,” he said in Italian.
Vettel may have finished his race outside of the top 10. But one must appreciate how well he paced himself during his first stint on the Mediums during the race.
Sebastian’s incredible first stint on the Mediums
Earlier during the race, Vettel enjoyed an amazing first stint on the Mediums as he was running in a healthy P4 for quite a lot of laps. He was clearly setting himself up for a top 10 finish in the race.

But his idea of a late pursuit on a fresh set of tires was hampered by lap 40 when he drove his car into the pits. The pit crew took a massive 13.1 seconds to get Vettel’s car going. They struggled a bit with the left-rear. But to add to Vettel’s woes, the front-right turned out to be even worse.
If not for the terrible stop, Vettel could have sandwiched himself between the two McLarens. Rather, he ended up in P14 reducing his prospects of fighting for the top 10.
As Vettel leaves a Grand Prix weekend with an empty hand for the 7th time in this season, he will be hoping to get the positives out of the race weekend in Imola.

And he will also be focused on coming back stronger for the rest of the races and end his final season with the Ferrari on a high note.
