Valtteri Bottas has successfully snatched the pole position in his last lap at Imola GP from Lewis Hamilton, who took the pole away from him in the last qualifying lap in Portugal.

In a hilarious slip of tongue, the post-qualifying press conference announcer messed up the qualifying position of the race.

The announcer said, ” taking the 15th pole position of his career, and fourth of this season, our pole sitter, Lewi…Valtteri Bottas.”

Max Verstappen immediately reacted by bursting into laughs and acknowledging the silly mistake. The announcer himself laughed at disbelief on how he could possibly make such a mistake.

Bottas out qualifies Lewis Hamilton

Bottas bested Lewis Hamilton during his last lap. He managed to turn the tables in Imola, avenging what happened to him in Portugal.

The Silver Arrows locked out the front row once again. It was a two-day race weekend format at Imola. After a 90 minutes’ solo practice session, the cars were fighting for a proper grid position for the race on Sunday.

Although, there were few very interesting names competing in the top 5 positions. Pierre Gasly managed an impressive P4 in his Alpha Tauri. He equaled his best qualifying effort this weekend.

Daniel Ricciardo also qualified his car at P5 taking Renault to the Top 5. Drivers from Ferrari and Racing Point failed to make it to the Top 5 this weekend.

Valtteri Bottas was flying at Imola

On a track where drivers were struggling to not exceed limits, Valtteri Bottas flew threw the chicanes to finish 0.09 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton.

Valtteri Bottas has been the only driver pushing Lewis Hamilton to his edge. Bottas began his 2020 season on high with a win. However, after Austria, he has only managed a win at Sochi this season so far.

Valtteri Bottas has had a few tough races with technical difficulties. Although, he seems set to take the battle to Lewis this weekend and secure his third win of the season.
