Rewriting the history books is something that Lewis Hamilton has been doing ever since his arrival in F1 in the 2007 season. Nearly 13 years on, he continues to go from strength to strength.

But often, the greatest of champions come across with an air of humility. That the results are merely only a by-product of the process. That the journey, should be much more enjoyable than the destination.

Hamilton is also one such champion who believes that leaving a mark before leaving the sport is important. For him, there is so much more to racing than just earning accomplishments.

Lewis Hamilton believes ‘living to his potential’ is the most important thing for him

Speaking in an interview with Sky F1, Hamilton said, “For sure if I try to look in 20 years’ time or something like that, of course I want to know that I didn’t waste my time here.Just collecting accolades and titles which you know, these titles things have just never meant anything to me.”

Lewis Hamilton has always held the approach of taking it race by race. And as he enters the pinnacle years of his career, the idea would be to make the most of his time at Mercedes.

“But yeah for sure you want to look back. And say I was part of something much bigger than myself.”
