There is a well-known adage let bygones be bygones however it seems that Felipe Massa doesn’t seem to adhere to this famous saying, as evidenced by his decision to dig up the past instead. As a result of which the Brazilian driver fell hard on the ground in his fight for the 2008 championship title as he got fleeced by his most dependable ally in his charges of $13,000,000 against Lewis Hamilton. So what’s the matter?

The former Ferrari driver recently issued an 8-page formal letter to Formula 1 and the FIA in order to start the legal process. Massa stated earlier this year that he intends to file a lawsuit after being denied the 2008 championship. Bernie Ecclestone fueled the fire by asserting that Massa was “cheated out of the title” as a result of the infamous Crash Gate incident. All of this happened at the Singapore Grand Prix, where Nelson Piquet Jr.’s crash forced the Brazilian driver to finish outside the points.

According to the F1 Insider, the F1 mogul said at the time earlier this year, “He [Massa] was cheated out of the title he deserved while Hamilton had all the luck in the world and won his first championship. Today I would have arranged things differently.” These remarks spurred Massa to file a lawsuit.

According to Massa’s lawyers, who were seen by Reuters in the letter given to the organization, the Ferrari driver lost precisely $13,000,000 by not having a hand in the championship. The note stated, ” Simply put, Mr. Massa is the rightful 2008 Driver’s Champion, and F1 and FIA deliberately ignored the misconduct that cheated him out of that title.”

The 92-year-old who encouraged Massa to take this action, however, has now betrayed him, saying to Reuters, “ I don’t remember any of this, to be honest. I don’t remember giving the interview for sure.”

Twitter F1 fans now have an additional opportunity to harass Felipe Massa as a result of this entire situation. Besides the fans didn’t leave the F1 mogul as he also came under fire.

Amid blaming Lewis Hamilton for his loss, Felipe Massa gets to learn a valuable lesson from the Twitter F1 fans

Though it is debatably unfair what happened to Massa, calling out the organization and causing Lewis Hamilton some sleepless nights with his accusations doesn’t do praise to the overall scenario. Given that Bernie Ecclestone took a step backward it seems like Hamilton will always be the seven-time world champion. But because of this whole incident, F1 fans on Twitter have started to make a mockery of Felipe Massa and Bernie Ecclestone for trying to blame Lewis Hamilton. One fan even said that the whole thing was “Bit embarrassing for Massa. Didn’t expect to go this route.”
