Ricciardo keeps Renault in the mid-field battle for bragging rights
The Australian’s P3 finish gave Renault a total of 114 points by the end of the race. This effectively keeps the French team in 5th place on the Constructors’ Championship table, but more importantly, they remain only 6 points behind Racing Point who moved up to the third place.
Had Ocon finished the race, they could well have been where Racing Point are now. However, the Frenchman suffered braking problems during Lap 23 and was subsequently ruled out.
