Alex Albon faced heavy criticism after his weekend in Nurburgring. Red Bull were optimistic about him after his outing in Mugello. However, after two unsettling performances, the Anglo-Thai driver’s seat at the Austrian marquee is in a precarious position.

Although he may change for the better over the course of the impending races of the 2020 season, Red Bull will want to keep a replacement at hand. Thus, given the circumstances, F1 pundits have pointed at Nico Hulkenberg.

Hulkenberg’s performance at the Eifel Grand Prix was mind-blowing. The German was stranded down in P20 at lights out and valiantly fought his way up to a P8 finish. That outing was a testament to Hulk’s class and instincts.

The chance is very small. We know that you will always stand by your Red Bull driver squad. Therefore, it cannot be assumed, replied Nico Hulkenberg.

When asked about AlphaTauri, the German replied without too much fanfare. “You never know, time will tell”

Red Bull need a racer to challenge Max’s authority on the team. They are certain that for Verstappen to unlock his full potential, what he needs is a worthy opponent within the team.

Therefore, Red Bull will always be on the hunt for a better driver. However, for them to choose someone that can adjust to their car is a challenge. Thus, before jumping into conclusions, all the arenas need evaluation.

As the winds of change start blowing in the German’s direction, it seems like he may be fielding multiple offers after all. Admittedly, the former Renault driver has no seat for 2021; however, he might be in list of Haas’ prospects for the 2021 season.

Guenther Steiner looks forward to a complete reorganization of the racers at Haas and Nurburgring gave him a fresh cause. Yet, what does Hulkenberg have to say to that proposition?

Nice team name, but unrealistic,” replied Nico Hulkenberg, post-Nurburgring.

Presently, Otmar Szafnauer suggested that Nico Hulkenberg deserved a spot in F1. The German is well and truly on his way to making an emphatic return to the paddock and may cop a drive for 2021.
