Formula 1 never fails to amaze us with its antics and skills on the track. But the entertainment goes far beyond the grid. And with the 2022 season starting off with such a blast, expectations for the championship battle were running high. But Leclerc and Ferrari’s surrender brought some sadness and a lack of excitement. However, this is where Oscar Piastri took charge and single-handedly started the chaos in the paddock, which saw some exits and new joinings in the paddock. And we can’t wait to see it all in the upcoming season of “Drive to Survive.”

Piastri snubbing Alpine for McLaren angered a lot of fans and certainly Otmar Szafnauer and the squad, who had been waiting to avail his services after investing in and mentoring the Australian for years. But all the anger and resentment meant nothing. The only outlet that Otmar had left was to express his thoughts, which will soon be featured in Drive to Survive.

And as the snippets from the show are being reported, one particularly interesting has come up where Otmar targets Piastri with a sly comment, between which our beloved Daniel Ricciardo got crushed as well. The Alpine boss targeted Piastri after the McLaren deal was finalized, and Daniel Ricciardo finished 17th in the Dutch GP.

According to the DailyMail, Otmar said,Good luck to Oscar,” in a multi-pronged, vicious attack, as the engineers around him burst out laughing. He also called out Piastri’s ethics and made a direct attack, saying, “Oscar signing for McLaren was a big shock. It was difficult for me to understand the lack of loyalty, I was hoping he had a little bit more integrity than that.”

In a statement quoted by Formula1news, he said, “We just have to get more competitive, work hard, add performance to the car, and do well on track. I wish Oscar good luck, but I think it’s for us to prove that he made the wrong choice,” thus making his intentions more clearly than ever.
