Bottas put his Alfa Romeo behind Carlos Sainz and ahead of Leclerc by going sixth fastest in qualifying. Bottas will start the race ahead of the Ferrari Monegasque, who is driving arguably one of the fastest cars on the grid.
The incredible qualifying result is Bottas’s best in the current campaign and for his new team. Additionally, the qualifying result will be a massive boost for the team and the Finn. With a P6 start in the race, Bottas might be able to end his string of poor race results and the points-less run. A run that has stretched to 10 races with his last points coming in Montreal at the Canadian GP, where he finished seventh.
This is an optimistic result for the Swiss team as well with a possible points finish from Bottas could earn them valuable points in the constructors table. Valuable points that will help them distance themselves from Aston Martin on their tail.

Valtteri Bottas is a fan favorite now after the incredible Mexican GP qualifying result
As we all know, it takes a mammoth effort to beat any of the top three teams in the current season. So the fans are raving about Bottas’ effort that saw him beat a Ferrari in the qualifying.

Fans are now rallying behind Bottas to repeat the feat in the race as well. However, it will be easier said than done because going faster than the F1-75 in one lap is one thing, but over 71 laps? That will take an incredible effort from the Finn.
