The 2022 season will commence tomorrow with the Free Practice for Bahrain GP, but the 2021 Abu Dhabi saga is still there in everyone’s minds. Recently in an interview, a journalist asked Stefano Domenicali about the incident. He especially asked whether the controversial 2021 finale lead to the decrease in fan following or not.

The Formula One Group president thus revealed, “The trust is already there. We had last week a meeting with all the promoters and all the broadcasters and all the partners, almost all the places we are going are sold out. That means F1 is not the problem that means the trust is there.”

Moreover, Domenicali also shared that FIA learned a lot from the Abu Dhabi incident and established a committee to more efficiently conduct the races this season. Furthermore, there is going to be a meeting soon after which FIA might publicly release the entire report about the Abu Dhabi controversy.
Drive To Survive increased the F1 fanbase
FIA is doing everything possible for F1 to reach out to more people. One of the steps that Formula One did that gave it a major boost in the fanbase is sign off on the Netflix F1 show. Since the release of Drive To Survive there has been a massive growth in the F1 fanbase.
The Netflix series is a documentary that showcases the events from an F1 season. But it also shows the behind-the-scenes in F1 and exclusive interviews with drivers and team bosses. Aside from that, the show helped promote this motorsport even during the coronavirus pandemic. Because fans could have enjoyed the drama and the thrill of F1 even when the 2020 season was postponed.
What’s there to watch in the DTS Season 4?
Netflix recently released the fourth season of Drive to Survive. It was also a major hit like the past three seasons. Further, the DTS Season 4 was the retelling of the infamous 2021 F1 World Championship.
