2022 has been quite an underwhelming season for the Mercedes AMG F1 team. Out of 22 total races, the German team only managed to win one, whereas their star driver Lewis Hamilton spent the season winless. However, their rival Charles Leclerc from Ferrari believes they can turn their fate around in 2023.

Leclerc, in conversation with Auto Motor Und Sport, revealed that he believes in the Brackley-based team. When asked about their resurgence, the Monegasque stated, “I’m counting on them. This season you never knew what to expect from them.”
“You never know if they will be slow or fast. Especially in qualifying. They are usually better positioned in the race. I’m pretty sure they’ll carry over the good things about the car and be quick,” conveyed the 25-year-old driver.
Keeping their on-track struggles aside, Mercedes, this season, also got in trouble with the FIA quite a few times. In October, Lewis Hamilton narrowly escaped punishment for wearing a nose stud as he stated a medical reason for the same. But Mercedes still ended up receiving a fine.

The Silver Arrows finished their season in P3 in the constructors’ championship, with 515 points, 39 points behind Ferrari. Team driver George Russell finished in P4 with 275 points, whereas Lewis Hamilton ended his season in P6 with 240 points.
Lewis Hamilton vows for 2023 comeback
After the forgettable year, Lewis Hamilton is hopeful of a strong 2023 season. The man from Stevenage believes that he and his team will make a strong resurgence, challenging Red Bull for the titles.

Using his Instagram handle, the seven-time world champion shared, “I’m pretty sure I speak for all of us when I say I’m glad the season has come to an end. Won’t miss it! Still, I want to thank my team for all the hard work this year. Through it all, we pushed on and learned so much that will get us back to the top next year.”
”I have no doubt we’ll come back better. We’ll be back. I’ll be back,” further wrote the former McLaren man.
What was supposed to be the fight for his eighth world championship ended up becoming a win less season for the Brit. Nonetheless, the Silver Arrows ace believes in his team for a magical comeback.
