Start him from anywhere on the field and in the end, Max Verstappen always finds himself within podium places. There is no stopping this Dutch juggernaut and the fans agree. However, this relentless approach from the Red Bull man has a downside for the F1 fanbase as well. The race results are becoming increasingly predictable and after one point, the end result becomes clear. This is a damaging aspect for the sport’s massive fanbase. This is exactly why some entities are trying to change this narrative by introducing faux excitement. However, the fans are having none of it.
1996 world champion Damon Hill is a Sky reporter now and makes his voice heard from time to time. After the Miami GP, the Brit took to Twitter to share his opinion on the Miami GP. However, just like his opinion on Sergio Perez’s chances of winning the championship, the fans rejected Hill’s opinion on Miami GP as well.
“Some people are not enjoying this race. Which tells me they don’t understand Formula One. This is two guys fighting it out to become World Champion. It’s down to split seconds. And Max has to have a perfect stop,” tweeted Hill.

Damon Hill’s opinion of the “exciting” Miami GP despite the Max Verstappen onslaught gets called out by the fans
Damon Hill is hanging by a thread while trying to pump some excitement into the current season. No fans are ready to accept the narrative of Max Verstappen Vs Sergio Perez going down to the wire. This is exactly why Hill’s opinion was instantly rejected and mocked by the fans.

Oh Damon. You're so lost in this faux battle lmao

You're inside looking out. Some perspective needed. 20 seconds between first and third is dull. DRS has killed F1

It wasn’t entertaining in the least. A race won and lost in the pit lane isn’t what I’m here to see.

Verstappen’s win put him on equal footing with Red Bull legend Sebastian Vettel in terms of wins for the team. This record-equaling win was a matter of when and not if. Verstappen is a generational talent and there is no doubt the Dutchman will make an unbreakable record by the end of his tenure with Red Bull. However, Hill’s pitting Verstappen with Perez for an entire season and reducing his capabilities to his car’s superiority was unacceptable to the fans.
