There have been a lot of questions surrounding the interest of Lewis Hamilton in F1 this season. It has been a suboptimal start to the year for the 7-time world champion. In the first 9 races of the season, Hamilton has registered just two podium finishes.

Former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone believes that Hamilton might have lost his focus. He even pointed out the clothes that the Mercedes driver wears in the paddock.

“I don’t know what he is doing dressing up in all those funny clothes. Has he a deal to it? Is it to get noticed? Maybe that’s it,” said the old F1 boss

He further mentioned, “Toto is getting a bit fed up with Lewis. I don’t think he’s trying, do you?” Let’s put it another way: Lewis doesn’t seem bothered about losing.”

“It’s not like him. He has a competitive nature, but he’s taking losing a bit easy for my liking,” said Ecclestone.

It is also a bit unfair to target his clothes and use that against him for his lackluster start to 2022. Let’s see if the 7-time world champion reacts to Ecclestone’s comments in the near future.
