The Formula 1 season of 2023 has kicked off. We’ve had three races, and even though Red Bull and Max Verstappen seem like the clear favorites to win all the accolades this time around, there’s still plenty of drama to keep us going. A testament to this has to be the Australian Grand Prix. It was filled with drama and action. And even though it’s been two weeks since we went to Albert Park, the dust from that epic race hasn’t settled down yet. And we’ve got Carlos Sainz to blame for it!

There’s been a huge re-shuffling of the pack this year. And in it all, it appears as though Ferrari have taken quite a step back from 2022. This was apparent in race-pace all throughout the three races, but as the Scuderia were looking to punch back with a solid P4 for Sainz, he collided with Fernando Alonso and got a painful five-second penalty for his troubles. This led to the Spaniard tumbling down the order and out of points at the final classifications.

But Ferrari decided to hit back and it appears that decision day is fast approaching. Reports suggest that, “Ferrari’s petition for a right to review Carlos Sainz’s penalty at the Australian Grand Prix will be heard on April 18 during a virtual meeting.” But how has this news gone down with the fans?

Fans react as Ferrari inches closer to possible Carlos Sainz vindication

It would appear as though Ferrari can’t catch a break. In the aftermath of the whole incident, Sainz was visibly angry. However, now, the fans think that Ferrari are focusing too much on others and not fighting to avoid a possible championship shipwreck.

One fan even commented, “F*cks sake man sainz I beg stop. You took out a driver don’t cry just move on fr. The lap wasn’t even voided.”

Let’s take a look at just a few of the fan reactions from this latest insight into the Sainz-Alonso fiasco.

Apart from the rest, fans had one main gripe with this Ferrari initiative. The fans feel like the team from Maranello are making a mountain out of a mole hill. And that’s its far too late to harp on this matter anyway.

Safe to say, the Scuderia isn’t getting the reaction and support they were hoping for.
