Sometimes, the media triggers the drivers to get a reaction out of them, and that is exactly what happened to Lewis Hamilton following the Japanese Grand Prix. In the post-race media session, one reporter asked Hamilton if he was, “looking forward to being with them [Ferrari]? Because they’re faster?” This question did not sit well with the driver.
To this Hamilton responded by saying, “Do you have any better questions?”, before walking out of the interview. Lewis Hamilton is unhappy with Mercedes and that’s exactly why he is leaving the team. Toto Wolff is unable to provide the drivers with a car worth competing and Red Bull and Ferrari are just getting faster.

This will put the team at P5 in the constructor championship and this is a place that Mercedes has not seen in decades of competing. However, Hamilton’s biggest rival, Max Verstappen had something positive to say about his transfer.

Max Verstappen acknowledges the value that a seven-time champion like Lewis Hamilton brings to any team. He spoke about Carlos Sainz being replaced saying, “He (Carlos) is good enough (to find another team) and doesn’t need to worry. He just needs to make the right choice about where he wants to end up, making sure he’s not changing every year.”
Verstappen spoke about Hamilton saying, “If Lewis wants to go somewhere else, as a team (Ferrari) you can afford a little bit more to attract a 7-time champion.” Talking about Carlos Sainz Jr being replaced instead of Leclerc the defending champion said, “Someone has to go, and this to me seemed like a no-brainer, seeing as they’ve been working with Charles for so long.. that’s sadly just how it works sometimes.”
