After 7 years of going trophyless, Sebastian Vettel arrived at Aston Martin with the hope of turning his fate around. However, the Aston Martin project turned out to be a disaster. Vettel retired at the end of the 2022 season, his second year with the team. Now that Fernando Alonso replaces him, fans urge the Silverstone-based team against repeating the Vettel treatment.
In his two years with Aston Martin, Sebastian Vettel managed only one podium finish. The P2 finish came in Azerbaijan in 2021, a season where he finished 12th in the drivers’ standings. Vettel persisted for another year, hoping for some improvement. However, the results remained the same as he finished 12th again in 2022, with no podium finishes. As all hopes dwindled, Sebastian announced his retirement mid-season.
