Bernie Ecclestone, despite heading out of the F1 family, continues to fire shots at the new owners, Liberty Media, over their modifications to the sport. This time, the criticisms have arrived through a postcard on the eve of Christmas.

The former F1 boss had a rather harsh message that touched upon multiple subjects including the controversial decisions by the stewards and track limits. Before revealing his message, let’s have a bit of a backstory to the two pieces of advice, shall we?

Track limits; This has been receiving quite a lot of mixed opinions from the entire racing fraternity over the years. This particular factor has led the sport to look more stringent. For instance, during qualifying, if a driver drives their car even an inch beyond the limit around the exit of a turn, they would have their lap time deleted.

The next point is the stewards. Well, the stewards have been quite poor throughout the 2021 season in terms of decision-making. And this is something the fans will have to agree upon without any argument. There were one too many poor decisions that consequently pulled the standards of the FIA down.

Ecclestone vented out his hate towards track limits and other absurd moments of the 2021 F1 season through his controversial 2021 Christmas card.

Rules for 2022: Do not cross the white lines. Help your competitors with a little help from the stewards and do not race. A Happy Christmas message for all. Enjoy a few days as next year will be no holiday. My warmest wishes,” Ecclestone wrote.

The upcoming season could be a crucial one for the sport itself amidst massive gambling with significant car design changes. So, will Liberty Media’s efforts to improve racing pan out with perfection or will they receive yet another controversial postcard from Ecclestone over next Christmas?
