Despite Vettel turning 34 today, he still has a spring in his step since his move to Aston Martin this year. In eight races so far, the German garnered 30 points which includes a podium finish in Baku and an impressive P5 in Monaco.

While the German is two years younger than Hamilton, one may argue both drivers are in the twilight of their careers. However, Hamilton’s contract extension is proof of the Silver Arrows’ continued faith in their star driver.

In addition to that, Vettel seems more at home with Aston Martin than he did at Ferrari last season. Within minutes of Mercedes’ announcement, Aston Martin jumped in with this intriguing tweet.

While the exact duration of his current contract isn’t clear, Vettel is definitely racing for Aston Martin till the end of next season. However, this tweet could mean that the British outfit are thinking of keeping him until 2023 as well.
