The rigorous Formula 1 battle has produced many drivers who have demonstrated how to succeed in it. One of them is Sir Lewis Hamilton, who has continued to inspire millions of people worldwide by following Ayrton Senna’s style. Among them is a young driver who has made a reputation for himself but has not yet won a Grand Prix. The person on the subject is Lando Norris, who frequently has revealed how the Mercedes Maestro has motivated him to pursue a future as an F1 driver. The recent success Norris has had, though, has given him a sense of confidence in his squad, and in light of that, the 23-year-old has already disparaged the seven times champion.

Lando Norris currently has eight podium finishes under his belt. He has often demonstrated his faith in the team as, in the opinion of the British driver, they can deliver success. And given its recent rising development, this belief appears to have advanced to a new level. The McLaren driver has now made it clear that he wants to be committed to his team and pursue excellence with the Woking base itself.

Sky Sports and Formu1a.uno quoted the eight-time podium finisher as saying, “I want to achieve my success and I want to achieve my goals with McLaren. That’s been my target since I’ve come here since I entered Formula 1 with this team.” However, his other statements have seemed to be a brutal diss at a man who was responsible for Mclaren’s success back in 2008.

Hamilton didn’t have a fantastic run with the Papaya Army after winning a championship for McLaren in 2008. The Briton only managed to win 12 races in four seasons up to 2012; as a result, he was compelled to leave the Woking-based team in pursuit of victories. However, it now looks that Norris, who has maintained his faith in the squad and its work ethic, disparaged the seven-time champion with his remarks.

He continued his statement and said, “I think it’s a cooler story at the same time, to go from where we were a few years ago, a team that was struggling. To fighting back and being that first team to come back from a long way and fight for championships and wins.”

Given that the Papaya army has performed wonders in the middle of the season, Norris undoubtedly seems to have high expectations for the team. But what about the period when McLaren struggled at the rear of the pack? Did Lando Norris consider leaving the team?

What was Lando Norris’s state of mind while Mclaren was suffering?

Norris committed to working with McLaren through the end of 2025 back in the previous year. And because Zak Brown made it fairly clear over the last winters that the team had missed some important development phases, the performance that followed was terrible.

The team’s MCL60 caused it to suffer in the back of the PACK. And at one point, Norris’ subconscious almost forced him to leave McLaren. Norris disclosed the state of mind to Sky Sports and said, “In the back of my mind, there’s that impatient game of, ‘do I stick it out for another few years, or is it time to look at something different?’ “

However, getting a podium at his home race and repeating the feat at the Hungarian GP might have given Norris a sense of faith. In light of that, he felt that his decision to stay at McLaren was the right call. “The more we achieve things as we have done over the past few weeks, the more I’m very confident with the decision I made to stay until 2025,” said the Briton.

The McLaren’s performance came at the perfect time, and the team’s joyful expressions can now be seen across the Woking garage. However, as each race goes by, the team experiences a challenge or another, and if that continued, it would be difficult to think of McLaren competing against Max Verstappen and company.
