Everyone gets praised by their supporters, but very few get the coveted appreciation even from their rivals. And I think that is when one should think that they have arrived. The supremely talented Fernando Alonso has arrived at Aston Martin this year and set in motion the second innings of his already iconic legacy. However, how he arrived at his new team left his old one sour, but one thing that cannot be disputed is that the Matador did the unthinkable. And the losing party of the breakup can do nothing but acknowledge the achievement.
The dark clouds of unlucky streak seem to be hovering over the French team. Their nightmare, which began with Pierre Gasly’s penalty during qualifying, ended with Esteban Ocon’s record-equaling penalty during the race leading to his eventual retirement from it. But the final nail in the coffin for the team and especially the TP, Otmar Szafnauer, seems to be the podium scored by the same man who gave them a boot. But hiding his heartbreak and taking a dig at Alonso and still appreciating him, Szafnauer probably is trying to heal from the gazillion wounds that have been inflicted at the team.
After the Bahrain GP, Otmar Szafnauer said, “He is still very motivated and lives for this. The question will be the age that reaches us all, I have no idea when or if that will happen”

He also added, “I don’t know, since he’s there, I can only see what I see from the outside. I think that Fernando Alonso, who is still very motivated, lives for this, so I think that the motivation is absolutely still there.”
While Fernando Alonso may have openly called himself the Anti Hero in the Netflix docuseries, Drive to Survive, he didn’t shy away from declaring someone as his hero either.
Fernando Alonso praises his teammate Lance Stroll
Lance Stroll met with an accident which led him to undergo surgery and miss the Bahrain Pre-Season Testing. Because of the extremely intense nature of the sport, many ruled out his participation in the Bahrain GP. But he proved that Fernando is not the only one who has resurrecting powers. Fernando Alonso didn’t hold back in applauding the efforts of his teammate, who finished sixth in the first race of the season.

“First of all, my congrats to my teammate Lance. Twelve days ago, he had surgery and now he is fighting here right with everybody. It’s amazing for the team,” said Alonso.
He further added, “He’s my hero! If you had seen his hand and his feet, you think he cannot race. He is phenomenal and it’s inspiring to see his determination and motivation. He deserves a good podium very soon.”
